Today Begins the 2025 PDGA Champions Cup – Europe's Best Take the Stage in California

The 2025 PDGA Champions Cup, the first professional major of the disc golf season, tees off today at Swenson Park in Stockton, California. As one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Champions Cup gathers 160 of the world’s top players—among them a strong contingent from Europe aiming to make their mark.

In the MPO division, Europe is represented by:

  • Niklas Anttila (Finland) – already a DGPT winner this year

  • Väinö Mäkelä (Finland)

  • Joona Heinänen (Finland)

  • Teemu Lampainen (Finland)

  • Teemu Talikainen (Finland)

  • Kristian Kuoksa (Finland)

  • Jesse Nieminen (Finland)

  • Albert Tamm (Estonia)

  • Silver Lätt (Estonia)

  • Jakub Semerád (Czech Republic)

  • Linus Carlsson (Sweden)

  • Simon Lizotte (Germany) – featured on the MPO1 card


In the FPO division, Europe sends a powerful field, led by:

  • Kristin Lätt (Estonia) – seven-time PDGA Major winner and top-ranked female player

  • Eveliina Salonen (Finland) – defending Champions Cup champion

  • Henna Blomroos (Finland)

  • Silva Saarinen (Finland) – coming off a 1020-rated runner-up finish at the MCO

  • Jenni Karppinen (Finland)

  • Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste (Estonia)

  • Maria Liivamägi (Estonia)

  • Kaire Tekku (Estonia)

  • Lykke Lorentzen (Norway)

Kristin Lätt and Silva Saarinen are featured today on the FPO1 lead card, while Niklas Anttila joins Paul McBeth and Eagle McMahon on the MPO2 feature card.


Out of 160 total competitors at the 2025 PDGA Champions Cup, 22 players come from Europe—12 in the MPO division and 10 in FPO. This means European athletes make up 13.75% of the field, underscoring the continent’s growing presence and impact at the highest level of professional disc golf.


Out of the 22 European competitors at the 2025 PDGA Champions Cup, the largest contingent comes from Finland, with 7 players (6 MPO, 1 FPO), followed by Estonia with 4 players (2 MPO, 2 FPO). Norway is represented by 2 FPO players, while Sweden, Germany, and the Czech Republic each have 1 MPO competitor.


With favorable weather expected and the world's attention focused on Swenson Park, the stage is set for four days of high-level competition.
