The long-anticipated 2025 PDGA Presidents Cup begins today, Wednesday, April 30, at Swenson Park in Stockton, California. Coverage by DGPT starts at 22.30 EET (Eastern European Time).

This elite XC-tier event sets the stage for the PDGA Champions Cup, which begins the following day, May 1st. But first, it’s time for continental pride to take center stage as Team USA and Team Europe go head-to-head. So far, Europe has never claimed victory at the Presidents Cup, adding extra motivation for this year’s squad to make history.
Team Europe is led by Jussi Meresmaa, the founder of the Presidents Cup, who now returns in a new role — captain. Meresmaa shared that this is a new experience for him: “Now I can share this moment with one of my best American friends as a fellow competitor, fellow father, fellow colleague.” He admitted that the atmosphere feels “too comfortable” for now but expects the competitive edge to return as the tournament begins. “I am honored to be there,” he added.
Team USA is captained by Avery Jenkins, a seasoned veteran in the sport and the Presidents Cup format.
The competition unfolds in two intense phases:
Phase 1: Individual Best Shot
4-player groups: three MPO (Mixed Pro Open) and one FPO (Female Pro Open)
28 total points available based on individual scoring
Phase 2: Head-to-Head Match Play
Numbered matchups (1v1, 2v2, etc.)
3 points for a win, 1.5 for a tie
If still tied after all matches, the Cup will be decided in sudden death, replaying Hole 18 until a winner emerges
Course layout: Players will test their skills on a compact, high-pressure loop featuring Swenson Park Holes 1, 8–13, 17, and 18.
