The 2025 PDGA Presidents Cup ended with a familiar result: Team USA defended its undefeated record, securing a 13th consecutive win against Team Europe. Despite strong individual performances, the European squad fell short with a final score of 30.83 to 21.16.

The event was held at Swenson Park and played out in two phases: Round 1 stroke play and Round 2 head-to-head match play.

Round 1: Stroke Play

In the stroke play phase, four-player groups earned team points based on finishing order (4 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd, 0 for 4th). Team Europe scored 10.66 points, while Team USA jumped out to an early lead with 17.33.

European Highlights:

  • Simon Lizotte (Germany) and Niklas Anttila (Finland) both shot -5 (27) and earned 2.33 points each.

  • Kristin Lätt (Estonia) and Eveliina Salonen (Finland) both placed well with scores of -4 and -2, contributing solid points.

  • Jakub Semerád (Czech Republic) and Joona Heinänen (Finland) shot -4 and -2 respectively.

However, consistency across Team USA’s cards gave them a comfortable lead heading into match play.

Round 2: Match Play

Europe mounted a strong challenge in the second round, winning several key matchups. Still, they were edged out in the overall round, scoring 10.5 points to USA’s 13.5.

European Match Wins:

  • Kristin Lätt defeated Holyn Handley

  • Eveliina Salonen defeated Ohn Scoggins

  • Simon Lizotte defeated Isaac Robinson

Tied Match:

  • Joona Heinänen halved his match against Ricky Wysocki

Losses:

  • Albert Tamm fell to Gannon Buhr

  • Niklas Anttila lost to Paul McBeth

  • Jakub Semerád was defeated by Anthony Barela

The match play phase was closely contested, but the Round 1 deficit proved too large to overcome.
