The 2025 MVP Music City Open, part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Elite Series, concluded in Antioch, Tennessee under disrupted conditions caused by a tornado warning and lightning. Severe weather forced organizers to suspend Saturday’s second round mid-afternoon and cancel the remainder of play for that day. As a result, round two of the MPO division resumed early Sunday morning, and both MPO and FPO divisions were reduced in size to ensure the final round could be completed ahead of additional storms.
Although European players made up only around 18% of the total field, they secured four podium finishes across both MPO and FPO divisions.

A Weekend of Challenges—and European Brilliance
Throughout the weekend, fans and players contended with lightning delays, tornadic weather alerts, and streaming interruptions. A Reddit user summed it up:
“Walked the entire course twice now and we're just bummed. Never seen this much rain out here in the 5 years we've been building this place.” – molby9, r/discgolf

And yet, in those difficult moments, Europe’s athletes rose to the challenge. The result:
MPO Champion: Niklas Anttila (FIN)
FPO Champion: Kristin Lätt (EST)
FPO Runner-Up: Silva Saarinen (FIN)
Two more Europeans in the MPO top 15 and another in FPO top 5
With almost 20% of the total field coming from Europe, this event showed that the continent’s players are not just participating—they’re shaping the storylines at the very top.
Finland’s Niklas Anttila won the MPO division with a total score of -26 (65, 56, 54). He posted the best score of round two in difficult weather conditions and maintained composure in the final round to finish three strokes ahead of the nearest competitors. His performance was marked by high accuracy, including a 95% fairway hit rate, 66.7% Circle 1 in Regulation, and 100% putting from Circle 1X during round two.
In the FPO division, Estonia’s Kristin Lätt secured her first DGPT victory in the United States after tying Finland’s Silva Saarinen at -22. Lätt claimed the win in a playoff. She climbed from outside the lead group after round one with scores of 56 and 59 in rounds two and three. Her round two was also the best of the FPO field, achieved under wet conditions that halted many others’ progress.
Other notable European results include:
Jesse Nieminen (FIN) – T13 in MPO at -14
Linus Carlsson (SWE) – T13 at -14
Jakub Semerád (CZE) and Joona Heinänen (FIN) – T28 at -10
Albert Tamm (EST) – T50 at -2
Väinö Mäkelä (FIN) and Rasmus Saukkoriipi (FIN) – T57 at -1
Silver Lätt (EST) – T77 at +2
In the FPO standings:
Eveliina Salonen (FIN) – 4th at -14
Heidi Laine (FIN) – 16th at +3
Henna Blomroos (FIN) – did not complete the final round but placed T26
Silva Saarinen (FIN) – 2nd at -22
Kristin Lätt (EST) – 1st at -22, playoff winner
Niklas Anttila led the MPO field in several key metrics. He parked 27.8% of holes in round two and remained consistent throughout the tournament, allowing him to avoid high scores in challenging weather. Kristin Lätt demonstrated similar control, hitting 77.8% of fairways in the final round and maintaining a Circle 1 in Regulation rate above 70%.
Approximately 18% of the tournament field represented Europe, with 14 European players in the MPO division and 5 in the FPO. With wins in both divisions and several additional top finishes, European athletes significantly influenced the outcome of the 2025 Music City Open.
