The European Disc Golf Festival opened in style with the Coolbet Superstars Challenge—a unique team-based disc golf event held beneath the iconic arch of the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. The competition consisted of three disciplines:
Distance – Players showcased their longest throws from a tee positioned high beneath the Song Festival Arch.
Accuracy – With Gustav Ernesaks' statue looming in the background, competitors aimed to land discs as close as possible to a marked target in front of the grand stage.
Putting – Under the pressure of a live audience, players attempted putts from various distances, testing both their nerves and precision.
This special event brought together four mixed-gender teams, each with two men and two women, and followed a playoff format with semifinals, a bronze match, and a final. The spotlight was firmly on Europe’s top athletes—and they delivered.
Estonia’s Bazooka Battalion Triumphs
The home team, Bazooka Battalion, featuring an all-Estonian roster, claimed a resounding victory. Led by captain Albert Tamm, the team also included Silver Lätt, Keiti Tätte, and Kaidi Allsalu. Despite the absence of Kristin Lätt, who skipped the event to focus on the main tournament, the squad displayed outstanding consistency and control across all disciplines.
In the semifinals, Bazooka Battalion outscored Missy and the Bombers (Missy Gannon, Simon Lizotte, Anthony Barela, Eveliina Salonen) by a margin of 1404 to 1355. They went on to secure the title by defeating Wysocki’s Warriors 1437 to 1398 in a tightly fought final.
Finland’s Elite Make Their Mark
Finland was strongly represented, with Eveliina Salonen competing for Missy and the Bombers, and Silva Saarinen for Wysocki’s Warriors. Both players contributed key points in the accuracy and putting rounds, showcasing Finland’s continued depth in international disc golf.
Wysocki’s Warriors, captained by Ricky Wysocki and rounded out by Gannon Buhr and Holyn Handley, advanced to the final after a commanding 1317 to 1008 victory over The Jerminaators.
Other European Standouts
Germany’s Simon Lizotte added firepower to Missy and the Bombers, delivering notable throws throughout the event. Norway’s Anniken Kristiansen Steen represented The Jerminaators alongside Jeremy Koling, Eagle McMahon, and Paige Pierce. Despite their strong resumes, the team fell short in both rounds, placing fourth after a 1398 to 1378 defeat in the bronze match.
A Format Tailored for Spectacle—and Europe Delivered
With a unique scoring system based on performance in distance, accuracy, and putting, the Superstars Challenge highlighted well-rounded skillsets rather than traditional round scores. European players were front and centre in both performance and results, reaffirming the region’s growing stature in the sport.
From the opening throws to the final putts, this event was more than just entertainment—it was a celebration of European disc golf excellence.
