Norwegian disc golfer Lykke Lorentzen has announced that she is expecting her first child in November, marking a new chapter in her life both on and off the course. “First Run Baby Edition. We’re very very very excited to start our little family in November,” she shared.

The announcement comes as Lorentzen is in the midst of her most stable and high-profile season to date. 2025 was meant to be a full tour year — and she has made the most of it. Competing in 10 professional events already this season, she has accumulated $3,486 in prize money and currently holds a PDGA rating of 946.

Lorentzen’s year began with a win at the 3rd Annual Prickly Pear Classic, a B-tier event in Texas that set the tone for a solid campaign. She followed that up with top-20 finishes at multiple Elite Series events, including the DGPT’s Supreme Flight Open, MVP Open at Austin, and Cascade Challenge. Although she has not repeated her breakthrough win at the 2024 Las Vegas Challenge, her ability to consistently place well against the world’s best players highlights her confidence as a touring pro.

Her rise has been steady and hard-earned. Originally slated to begin full-time touring in 2020, Lorentzen’s plans were delayed by the pandemic. “I toured as much as I could in 2022 and 2023,” she said, “but since I’m from Europe and I didn’t have a visa, I couldn’t play all the events.” It wasn’t until January 2024 that she received her athlete visa and was able to join the full DGPT schedule.

That same year — her first full season — proved to be a breakout. Lorentzen placed in the top 5 at Jonesboro and Texas States, and captured her first major U.S. victory at the Las Vegas Challenge, where she said it “felt great to finally have a win and play four good rounds.”

Since joining the PDGA in 2017, Lorentzen has played 135 events and secured 32 wins, with over $45,000 in career earnings.
