Elviss Brauns, co-founder of the Latvian Disc Golf Federation and long-time advocate for the sport, has launched a regional survey to support disc golf development across the Baltic region.

As part of his Master's thesis in Business Management at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, Brauns is researching disc golf market development strategies in the Baltics. The five-minute survey targets players and stakeholders and explores four key areas: demographics, motivation and participation, equipment and purchasing behavior, and ideas for growing the sport.

“The insights gathered will benefit federations, organizers, retailers, and players — helping us all build stronger disc golf communities,” Brauns says.

He invites federations and disc golf groups across the region to share the survey with their players. All responses are anonymous and will be used solely for academic purposes. Interested federations can request a summary of the results to support their own development efforts.

The survey explores four key areas:

  • Demographics

  • Motivation and participation patterns

  • Equipment choices and purchasing behavior

  • Open opinions on how to grow the sport
