The 2025 Ale Open presented by Discraft kicked off today at Ale Disc Golf Center in Nol, Sweden, and one of the biggest stories after Round 1 is the remarkable performance of 13-year-old Swedish talent Julia Fors. Playing on home soil, Julia carded a 4-under round to finish the opening day in solo second place, just one stroke behind the leader Kristin Lätt (-5).

Meteoric Rise Over Three Seasons

Hailing from Kungsbacka, Sweden, Julia Fors joined the PDGA in 2022 and has quickly progressed from junior and amateur ranks to competing against the best professionals in Europe.

  • 2022: She played her first PDGA-sanctioned events, winning the Södra Norrlandstouren in FJ18 and finishing top-3 in FPO events already as a newcomer.

  • 2023: A breakout season with 24 tournaments and several victories in both amateur and pro fields, including:

    • Swedish Amateur Championship (FA1)

    • Multiple Ugglantouren wins

    • FPO victories at Lindberg 1 Year Anniversary and Onsala Öppna.

  • 2024: Full transition to FPO, earning multiple pro wins across Swedish tours and competing in DGPT Silver events such as Ale Open, Swedish Open, and Järva Open.

By May 2025, her PDGA rating reached 909 — a remarkable climb of 273 points in under three years.

2025: Breaking Onto the DGPT Stage

Julia’s 2025 season has been her strongest to date:

  • Two A-tier victories: Vinberg Open and DGPT Q-Series Eastern Meadows Open.

  • Career-high DGPT finish: 9th place at the DGPT ES-tier Konopiště Open.

  • Strong prize earnings: Over $2,400 earned this season alone.

And now, with her performance at the Ale Open Round 1, Julia continues to make headlines — showing not only consistency but the ability to challenge some of Europe’s top stars on one of the biggest stages.

A Future Star in the Making

Statistically, Julia’s progress is exceptional:

  • PDGA rating growth: From 636 (Sept 2022) to 909 (May 2025)

  • Career victories: 21 wins in just three seasons

  • Professional wins: Including DGPT Q-Series and Swedish national tour events

She’s quickly becoming one of Europe’s most exciting young players — and today’s Ale Open leaderboard shows she’s ready to compete with the very best.
